Welcome to Food Hygiene Direct

Food Hygiene legislation requires all food handlers to receive appropriate supervision, and be instructed and/or trained in food hygiene, to enable them to handle food safely
It is very important that all food businesses obey the law and supply food that is safe to eat. Consumers in certain areas can already see how well a food business in their area complies with food hygiene regulations through 'scores on the doors' schemes run by their local authority.
Who is it for?

All food handlers, including bar and waiting staff, need food hygiene training. Under the Food Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, all food businesses must operate hygienically and all food handlers must be supervised and/or trained in food hygiene. This includes all food, whether opened or packaged, as well as drinks and ice!
